I'm about to take out two svt motors, one blown the other good. the svt with the good motor is totalled and the svt with the bad motor is cherry...cept the motor. To the point, do any of you have any tips on making the whole process go easier, I have all the equipment, stands, jacks, cherrypicker and I know it comes out the bottom..but is there anything that I should watch for or any time saving shortcuts? I would also like to know if there is anyway of leaving the ac lines intact so I don't have to discharge my ac system in both cars? Thanks guys/girls!! Love this website..also I will have a parts car available soon, eveything is good except the drivers side rear door and suspension.

Are the two engines the same year? If not, you may have some mild compatibility issues to overcome. The main one being the returnless fuel system that started in mid 99.

At the worst you may have to swap a few parts from one engine to the other.

They are both 98's. Yeah I agree it is too bad that I don't have the 3litre, o well. How did you go about getting your motor out like that w/o dissconnecting your ps/ac lines? My hayes manual tells me to take it out through the bottom, can you take it out the top without unbolting the subframe and transmission?? Thanks guys!

i unbolted the engine from the trans (ATX, i just pulled my MTX out with the engine and tranny connected)

i unbolted the ac compressor, and dropped it down and let it hang there

i unbolted the PS pump and tossed it out of the way!
