The S2000 for 04 addressed many complains about "high strung nature" low RPM grunt, etc. by increasing to 2200cc. HP remained the same @ 240 but peak power & redline dropped about 500 RPM, with peak torque only up about 10 lb/ft but with a wider torque curve.. Overall, engine reportedly much more flexable and without doubt improves the best mass produced 4-pot in the U.S..
They may(?) have reduced compression as well..good news for F.I. To bad the thing is so claustrophobic inside..
