OP isnwbored New CEG\'er I Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 30	alright i bought my 2000 contour with 27k on it and it now has 37k on it, it wouldnt start in a parking lot because it was way overdue for a fuel filter (so i found out), before it died it was fighting for power, when i slammed on the gas which i later deduced was because the filter was clogged, well now i have replaced it and it runs almost perfect, except sometimes when i hit the gas hard it still feels like its fighting for power, could i just need fuel injector cleaner and some gas treatment? or could the fuel filter not have been the entire problem? 2000 Ford Contour SE

dbird_dup1 Veteran CEG\'er D Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 888	i have a similar problem with a 96, V-6.. one day run fine, the next day it is fighting real bad...... never changed the fuel filter... could it be that at about 45,000????? filled up the tank and the next day it gave me problems.... thanks for a reply....

OP isnwbored New CEG\'er I Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 30	i filled the tank, with special (mid range stuff) and put in STP gas treatment and fuel system cleaner and it runs like a champ now if i were u after 45k change your filter, its supposed to be done every 30k , i waited till 37 i think thats why mine sh*t on me 2000 Ford Contour SE
