This is hilarious, Blk560 has something negative to say about almost everything anyone posts on this subject. I mean, I try to explain my stance about my first post and he fires back with you're an idiot in so many words. Sounds like he has a big problem with people saying he's wrong about anything laugh

Hey darlin',

If you have issues with reading facts and wrongly interpreting those facts as criticism, they're just that: issues. Yours to deal with. That's just one of the things what would have gotten you laughed off the original Contour board, as I alluded to earlier.

Everything I've said about the Contour & Maxima has been fact, and largely quantifiable. Whether these numbers 'back up' the Maxima (the protest of which seems to be your most substantial contribution to this thread) or not, is no fault of mine.

Anywho...

A lot of this is up the driver. The heavily outfitted Maxima should be able to defeat that of the Tour, right!?
It isn't quantifiable without actually witnessing it happen and so forth though.... so let's halt the permutations on the subject. Cheese and whine, darlin', and candyasss....

It's opinion at this board until there is a video for characters like this Blk560 hero, and DemonSVT. They are only persuaded through months of running the algorithm proposed by other eyewitnesses here who have seen the Tour defeated by 'x'......

Peace

I have seen a local MAX owner pretty much stock running a 14.8 at the track. David B. He post on here every once and a while. Very knowldgeable. I have seen the Hyabussa (bad spelling) run 9.87 @ 148mph!!!

As for the max, ya it is possible to beat them. ATX yep, Manual depends on driver vs driver ability.

Epoch00,

Why are you in these forums anyways....Do you own a Tour? Like the Tour? Or do you just like picking on it? Just curious!

Peace

See profile.

Math minor, eh? Makes me wonder why you have such difficulty establishing baseline numbers between a 2000 Maxima and a 2000 SVT Contour.

My dear Watson, the entire basis for my facts has been the premise that both cars are box stock and driven by the same individual. As I'll repeat for the umpteenth time, a stock 4th gen Maxima will win against any year stock SVT Contour. A stock 5th gen Maxima will be virtually dead even until triple digit speeds, where the SVT Contour walks away (though they top out at close to the same speed).

And 'x' would probably be a Batman, oops, Grand Am GT that inches by an SVT Contour running flat out at 143mph, right?

(BTW, does the flexing of plastic body parts get annoying at those speeds?)

Yeah, I remember Dave...pretty level-headed guy. His Max SE is a 4th gen...and there's little question about 4th gen performance. They cook pretty good for the advertised 190 hp.
