Was on my way to Wildwood this weekend for a big car show, and this guy in a 99-00 Maxima wouldn't get out of my way.. When the lanes finally opened up, I passed him and shot him a dirty look. As luck would happen, the light changed to red and he was right behind me, shooting me evil looks.. Light turns green, and I launch, hoping he would take the bait. No doubt about it, he took off after me like a bat out of hell. My g/f wasn't thrilled with this, but I held the pedal to the ground, lifting up slightly for every shift, nailing each one perfectly.. He started loosing ground, and at about 120mph my g/f started screaming, so I flashed the hazards and let him catch up, was probably about 5-6 car lengths. We lined up next to each other at the next light about a mile down the road, and I let him set the tone.. He left the light at like 10mph, and didn't want to race anymore. Score 1 for the SVT (without a rear badge, so he's got to be scratching his head).

Later on, I found a pack of sport bikes.. Wanted to play even though I know what they're capable.. Launched from a light and was able to hang with one of the bikes until about 80-85mph, at which time they just started pulling HARD. And the guy had a girl riding with him too, which kind of scared me because of how fast he was going. Still pretty neat.

When I got to Wildwood, I got a ride in my g/f's uncle's 31 Ford.. Wow, talk about power, laying down rubber still in 3rd gear.. And it's an automatic to boot. Gotta love that old school power.

I wonder if it was an ATX Maxima or not...

Be careful with those angry drivers and loony bikers! Some ppl will do very dangerous/irrational things to show you who's boss!

LOL! That bike was slow probably because that GF of his on the bike was HEAVY! And that guy probably wasn't even trying. Seriously, if a guy on sport bike just get off the line like normal, it'll seem like he's pulling hard compare to a car.

That bike story sounds backwards...

Up to 60 they should kill us and above that it's dependant on the type of bike...

A couple of kids (3) were playing with traffic a couple weeks ago (about 11pm at night) They were pulling up to cars and the circling them going down the highway (about 70mph)

They decided to come over and do it with me; but I just dumped it into 3rd and took off.
They never came close to catching me after I hit 4th and by 120 had quit trying... I was surprised myself, but this car has shown it's highway legs off very well to me. I still get impressed everytime at it's great road manners and fast highway acceleration.

ooh. ooh. i didnt want to post this for fear of flames but i have to now. The other night i was on my way to the g/f's house. I pulled up at a light with some kind of crotch rocket. The passenger was a pretty big guy, tipping the scales at im sure close to or over 300 lbs, he also had on a backpack. when the light turned green we both slow rolled to about 15 mph, and i was staying right next to him when he looked at me, leaned over, and nailed it! So i nailed it just to see how bad he would waste me. Well i constantly inched on him until i got a car length by him @ 90 mph. Then he gave up. I was left scratching my head. It sounded, and he shifted, like he was going all out. A few miles down the road he pulled up next to me looked over and nodded like "nice car", "or you got me". The question is, was he pulling my chain or was he seriously throwing off the power to wieght ratio of that bike??

The maxima story is complete B/S. Everyone saw Ryan at SZ01 in his Maxima racing the SVTs. Nobody could beat him. Mabey.......MABEY...if it was an auto, but even then I dont think he would have lost by 6 cars like you say.

Many bike riders (esp. novices) are afraid to launch hard because flipping a bike from a stand-still is very easy to do. My R6 might Do 60 in 3.2 seconds - but I won't get that for a while.
