You blame them for what? Developing? The last time I checked the United States was not the only country allowed to develop.

They may be cause to the higher gas prices but to use the word "blame" would imply that there are evil intentions behind thier actions.

There's another problem... the corporations that use the most gas, and therefore are the biggest influencers in driving the price up, pay the least, shoving the burden onto consumers.

We do a thing called Fuel Hedging.

Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose.

Right now we're winning. Other times we lose, meaning that we offset what would have been a rise in your gas prices.

If we weren't winning right now we'd just charge a fuel surcharge that would increase the cost of everything you bought.

One way or another you'll pay for that gas.

Aaahh... you made it sound like you were getting volume discounts. Hedging is a completely different matter.

Wow, I really never would have guessed it was THAT large an increase. How much a gallon do you guys pay?

Oh, BTW, the way you and I post, I was thinking you were unemployed like I am

I can't say exactly what we pay, as that's confidential, but suffice to say that it's about 1/3 what the retail price for a gallon is. Not 1/3 less. 1/3.

And, no, sorry, not unemployed. I do quite well here. And if you find you can't get an aviation job, we have a LOT of former aviation workers in the rail industry. They've been jumping ship out of that volatile industry into what is probably the single most stable work environment you'd find these days. I'm a former employee of Lockheed-Martin myself.

I was being sarcastic Antonio.

But yes, if you look at the root cause of high gas prices, it's OUR appetite and dependane on it, along with sudden surge of demand coming from China and India.

We get those too, of course. You're going to get discounts when you use billions of gallons a year. We could keep entire refineries running 24/7 just to meet the demand of our single company.

Okay, I did a quick Google for an explaination of that, all I got were 50 page airline studies.... Care to enlighten me on how that works. Just a random guess would make me think it's kind of like buying futures??

Thanks for the bout of confidence, lol. Aviation and law enforcement have been my lifelong dreams, and I am trying to combine the two. However, if I can't get a flying job, I will probably end up in law enforcement of some kind, but not small town cop crap... -Nick
