Thats nice that you have the ability to do that. However, people like me can't do that. My car is paid off, I have state min. liability, and I am a college student, and an aviation major (10 hours a week of flying). Gas used to be $1.45/gal here, and I paid $18 in gas every 7 days or so. Thats about $75 in gas a month. Today gas has hit $1.91, bringing my monthly bill to about $100 a month. $25 a month on top of rent, bills, food, car repair, etc is a big deal for me. And this is with me conserving gas as best as I can. And on top of that the prices on alot of things are going up to compensate for the increase in gas and cattle feed prices.
Oh and on top of that I lost my job yesterday because they couldn't work around my school and flying schedule anymore (so yeah, no more telemarketing for me, darn!) As happy as I am to be out of that job, it couldn't have come at worse time, I have to move into another apartment thats $40 a month more (long story, but I HAVE to move.)
Im not looking for sympathy, I am just trying to make the point that while higher gas prices might be an annoyance to some people, to other people it really hits them hard. -Nick
