So am I to understand there are mixed feelings on these? I have an ATX and feel I could use a speed increase in shifting, but premium is expensive.

And is there a Diablo chip for Duratecs? I know the Zetec one exists.......

I also agree here. I want a chip now but gas is so high that I'd only use it at the track. But what's the use of having a chip if your not going to use it constantly? too bad they couldn't program them to use like 89 octane or something. All we get here in Ky. is 87, 89, or 93. I know of someone that sells 110 but that's like $3 something a gallon.

So that's what I figured....I had never heard of anyone having to reprogram a Ford ECU(my old Sentra was an entirley different story...). So what should a I look for in a 2000 SVT chip? Do I have to buy another "piggyback" module? confused

You mean your car didn't actually dyno at 22HP over what you started with which was 30HP higher than another Zetec ATX w/ similar mods?

The best thing about my chip is it perked gas mileage about 2 maybe even 3 mpg... That's paid for itself by now.

I get a solid 25-26mpg and I'm always on the loud pedal... About needing premium. Umm.. All SVT's need premium. Would you pay $225 to lose like 10HP or more? (reduce octane) I wouldn't. Not even to save 5-7 cents per gallon. That's just silly!

And BTW - the SVT will compensate for lower octane gas already. I just don't recommend it (00's especialy and now it's getting hot out!)

I guess you do have a point Demon. But all I was trying to say is that I would like a chip but I'd just like to see what's going to happen to gas prices before I buy. I, however, could use the boost in mileage anyway.
