What a tired argument...
Who cares if two people want to make a commitment to each other??? If you really want to preserve the "sanctity of marriage", then why isn't anyone protesting to make divorce illegal? I mean, didn't you stand before God and some priest and make a lifetime commitment to someone "for better or for worse, until death do us part"?
This crap comes up every election year so the lowest common denominator of the American voting public has a nice new set of flash cards so they can tell which side is for/against gay marriage or raising taxes or cleaning up the filthy radio/TV airwaves or whatever.
