I would understand the stance by some married people that gay marriage will lessen their marriages if gay people intended this a lark or a whim.
Thr truth is that we are looking at marriage at least as seriously as straight people look at it. We are looking at marriage as a commitment to each other for the rest of our lives, not a political statement or social convenience.
Sorry, but I get a little riled up when people seem to think two men making a lifetime commitment to each other is somehow less than when a man and a woman do it.
