Houston has always had high rates for motorcycles, so I am not too optimistic. I've also already taken the MSF course quite some time ago.

What companies do you guys go through to get these low insurance rates? I can't find anything less than around $100-150/mo!!!

have you tried progressive? i know my buddies are using them, and their insurance is dirt cheap, though they do only have the minimum coverage needed to ride.

It's a well-known secret that StateFarm has the best rates. I hope they last, quite a few people jumping ship.

You have ot have your car insured with them as well to get a policy though.

Progressive is your best bet. They support the AMA and will cover any bike. My dirt bike was covered everywhere even at the races.

Progressive was the one giving me crazy rates... at least in the online quoting... they wouldn't give a discount for safety class training or anything... certain bikes were pretty cheap, but the majority of bikes, specifically those that certain members of this board own, were astronomical!

For instance...
21 yrs old, PRISTINE driving record, no claims in the last 3 years, 2 MSF courses, 5 years riding experience.

2001 Yamaha R6
Bodily Injury 25/50/10: $312
Unisured Motorist Bodily Injury: $219
Comprehensive Covg $500 deductible: $1,773

One year total insurace: $2,332!!!!

What am I doing wrong?

Similar rates on a CBR600RR...

Same covg on an '01 Ducati Monster 620 is $866, but on the 620 sport, same engine, similar bike, but different look, its $1,337... WTF?

Progressive quotes me at $1337 again... $924 for comprehensive... that doesn't even have anything to do with my driving record!
