Speaking of gas prices, what's the average on a new sport bike? I'm talking R6, 600RR, etc.
When I had my FZR600, I would get around 200 miles per tank. But, I could never get it jetted right. With a full race pipe and dual K&N's, I netted 89hp on a 9 year old 600.
Are the newer bikes doing better?
*I'm considering one of the two. I regretted selling mine the day after I sold it.

I have an 02' Yamaha YZF600R, K&N, RS-3 pipe, Jetted. Five gallon tank, I average 220/tank (I don't ride till completely empty). I'm loving it. Took me only $8 to fill up last week and I can commute to work all week long on that. It's really saving me $$$ right now.

Man, it almost makes buying a bike a rational decision for me!

most 600cc sport bikes are going to be around 50 mpg. I know I am using my bike to go to and from summer school all summer, cause like someone else said it costs about 6-8 dollars to fill the tank up with premium, and it will last me a week and a half or so. And they are so much fun to ride!

Don't think you'll save lots of money on gas by buying a bike. Maintenance is somewhat a [censored]. Set of tires will last you 5-7k at best, chain, sprockets, tune-ups, etc. But it sure as hell is fun. And my pig-of-a-bike with its triple nets me 35-45mpg, depending on what mood I'm in. -J

In retrospect, it was all downhill from here. RIP, CEG.
