Hannity, a self-described "arch-conservative" joined Fox when the network was started, and personally nominated Colmes to be his on-screen debating opponent. Before the selection was made, the show's working title was "Hannity & Liberal to Be Determined".




I heard Colmes on his radio show. On that day he seemed quite resonable. He actually let his guests answer most of the questions he asked, rather than interrupt them before they were done making their points - which I see him do regularly on the TV show.

To be fair, Hannity does the same thing, but he seems to do it less often, unless the guest keeps railing off on a tangent to spout some partisan mantra-du-jour.
