hey guys i have a 95 se mtx and am having tranny problems and am not sure what it is or i should do about it. I need advice. my tour now has 110k on it but has a 2002 cougar motor with about 30k on it.
i am debating wheather the car is worth fixing or not.

here is what happened, On friday i was driving and pulled over on the side of the road for a few seconds looking for an address and once i found it i quickly pulled out and maybe 15 ft ahead on the road was some gravel and rocks so when i hit the dirt pile my tires spun becasue i pulled off quickly. Right after i hit the pile of dirt i pulled it out of gear and put it back into first (the whole time i didn't leave first gear). when i put it back into gear i heard a grinding sound so i took it back out of first and tried it again, same thing happened and when i tried to step on the gas the car wouldn't move foward and ikept hearing the sam grinding noise. i pulled over to see what happened and the car became stuck in first gear and wouldn't get out of first. Does anyone have an experince with this and what it might be?

any suggestions on the whole situation withthe car and if its worth fixing or dropping it and geting a new car? pleae help thx

Anybody have a clue ?

The 95 has the Rod Shift MTX 75, not the Cable shift.

What are the chances that a pin or something could have come out of a shift fork ?
