In my other car forum, someone, who has a friend working at a gas station, advise that apparently gas prices is suppose to go over 0.90/L by Monday. So fill up before then.

There is alot of speculation going on. The price will likely be 1.00 by summer. I'm budgetting bassed on that. I just filled the tank @ 86.9 and that cost me $44.61.

Already has here in Kitchener/Waterloo. We spiked for the first time $0.929 for regular on Friday.

Pissed me off that in the GTA it was lower

I'm trying to budget for the $1.00 a litre. However, won't it be a bit hard to show...considering a lot of the signs only have xx.x-cents per litre?

On a side note, I was at the Petro-Canada at Hurontario & Brittania this afternoon. One of the first things I saw was their "leaflet" on gas prices.

Yeah and what was it. Don't hate us. Hate the poloticians whom tax fuel to death?

As for the signd. I half expect there to be a new mandate that states a sign that posts a price of $.02 for example must be taken as $1.02, and that retailers will have till such and such a date to get new signs given the price of them is so great.

I've been paying 96.9 for the last week... you're lucky to still have it at that price!

Let's just say we've been driving the Civic more often than the Mystique in the last few days.. The mileage we can get out of a gallon of regular is incredible with the Honda...

The gas here went up 7 cents on Friday, to 99.9 cents a liter. Further up the coast it is $1.04. This is for regular self serve too.

Nothing like a big pie chart they had showing that the taxes and crude oil costs make up about a large chunk.

*webclicky to Petro-canada.ca*

I just find it ironic that in Petro-Canada's position, it suggests the problem is taxation...when it relies on taxation (i.e. funds from the government) for capital (ownership of shares).

Unless the entire oil industry is transparent in their wheeling and dealings (especially OPEC), consumers may be more/less reassured about the price they pay.

That's all from me.

PS> I had a thought about the whole price thing. You realize how eager we all are to "jump" once a price hike comes along? Think about it...gas is at $0.84 now. Tomorrow, let's say it jumps to $0.92. We all go fill up at $0.84...sell in volumes...gain more profit that way. So gas hovers at $0.92...then comes down. Cycle repeats.

Now think this way...let the price drop to, say, $0.82. Now, hike the price to $0.86. Not bad of a hike...4 cents. Now from $0.86 to $0.94. Cycle begins again...we all buy at $0.86...sell in volumes...more profit...

Maybe this sunburn has fried some brain cells...ah well.

Next thing we'll here is gas station owners complaining about the cost of making new 4 digit signs. Who knows, maybe they'll pass the cost down to us consumers with something like 5 cents/litre
