So I finnally decided to do it. I looked under the hood, found where it was on the intake hose, I feel dumb because there is even a label and an arrow on the hose pointing to where it is. So heres my question, What electronic parts cleaner do I use? And I noticed there are two ways to get to the MAF, I can either take the hose out and go inside the hose, OR there is like a service pannel on the outside, and two bolts with wierd holes to unscrew it and open it, where can I find that tool and what is it called and how much does it cost?

Since you obviously don't read any of my replies to your previous posts, I'm not gonna reply. I'll let hitman answer you and you should listen to him and hope you don't end up having to buy a new MAF.

Umm, you don't pry anything. And don't listen to hitman. You DO NOT open the MAF sensor up. You will break something doing that. It's a good thing he paid a shop to do his, but it's really very simple to do.
Just get some non-residue electrical parts cleaner (advance auto sells a cheap but good aerosol one), and just remove the air fitler housing or aftermarket air filter and spray the little wires inside the metal MAF tube. That's basically all you have to do.

Alright, thanks for pointing that out, I read everything in that post and I guess I forgot to go back and check on it again. Thankyou for your time and post and thats all I need.

Kermit, I never said you pry anything. One option is to remove the MAF from the car, the other is to leave it on the car. When I had mine done, they removed if from the car, I know what I'm talking about, I didnt do because the car was in the shop for a CEL anyways.

I didn't say you said to pry anything. Go back and look at that thread. I was replying to alias. The next sentence however was directed to (or about) you. Also, go back and look at the thread and you'll see that you said more than it just can be removed or done on the car. Why would you pay an extra $10 to have it done if you know what you are talking about? Even if it was in the shop. If my car was getting the tranny rebuilt, I wouldn't pay them more just to say, put on a belt or change the oil. It's bad enough you had it in a shop for a CEL and paying them to fix it. Point is, I think you NOW know what to do, but go back and look at the thread and look at what you said and you'll see you were leading alias in the wrong direction.

Alias, again, if you need any additional help, PM me. Though the MAF cleaning is super simple, so you shouldn't need it, but don't hesistate to ask me if you run into any difficulties.

hey now guys, shake hands and make up.... Anyways... I opened up the airbox about 30 minutes ago and took a look up the intake hose and here is what I saw

that circled thing SHOULD be where I spray the electronic's part cleaner.... Right?

The Picture is a little blurry because I accidently moved the camera RIGHT when I took the shot. But I saw two little wires inside there, they kind of looked like lightbuld wires, I figured those were the extremely fragile wires that I have to be carful with.

Correct, those are the wires and that's where you spray.

opening the box on top leads right to them.

it doesn't nothing to open it up...blow them off or spray them with whatever and put it back on.

I rode around for months with a dirty MAF thinking it was something else...the damn guy takes a can of air, sprays the MAF and bam, like a brand new car. I felt so retarded...

Anyway its not hard to clean and I seriously doubt u could break something in there...unless you try really hard.

Opening the top of the MAF is not recommended because it can throw its calibration off.

Ok guys, I went out to radioshack today to see if I can get some electronics part spray, so I get out there and the only can of the stuff that I might be able to use, has a brush on the tip of it its a friggan electronics part spray, WHY DO YOU NEED A BRUSH ON IT?!? Anyways Anybody have any suggestions where to go and what brand of spray to get, I know how to clean off the sensor, now all it comes down to is what type and name of spray that I need.
