Umm...might suggest teaching your friend how to shift. If it's a stock Si--as you say--a V6/CD4E Contour has *no* chance (I used to own one). Heck...the numbers are so far apart, it's not even funny...

merlin's right. Gotta make sure you tilt the odds in your favor. The SI is quick once it gets rolling - which is why a high-speed or rolling start would make it a close call.

Means nothing. Track times are sooooo driver dependant. Civics are affected more by bad starts than our Duratecs. An Si is a riced out civic. But I have seen some Si's with a turbo on them run high 12's.... The SI is not a riced out Civic. Does this look like rice to you? Infuryum's ride looks stock to the untrained eye, but it is lowered. You couldn't ask for a nicer looking car than his. And I'd like to see him race you. The point it that not all SI's are riced out. And Club SI is full of a lot of ricers that have never actually raced anything. It's also full of racers that have a lot of power. The aftermarket is huge as they are breaking into the 8's now. Those are obvious to spot, but some of the 12 second cars are not so. Claims of beating an SVT? I believe it. On the street, anything is possible.

I also don't think the Si is a riced out civic. And I do know the power some of these are putting out and that is why I said equally modded or stock it's obvious we are never going to get an aftermarket like they have. But to me that is o.k. because for the amount of money they put into those cars I would be smart enough to purchase something better. After all we all know how performance parts can add up and how sometimes the cost of wear and tear on your car is sometimes not worth it.And if they made a nice performance turbo for the SVT im sure we could see similar results.Any1 have a good idea for a turbo that might fit our car.

I'll post this before he does. I got beat by infuryum a few weeks ago. Just a car lenghth, but still beat. BUT, he is not the typical Si setup. He's done a lot of intelligent modifications to make his car legitamately fast (for a Honda ;)). He knows what will work and what won't and he's made the best of it. I'll also say that I don't street race much, so it's also a case of infuryum being a better driver. Put it all together and that equal a loss for the SVT. I've beaten many other Si's though that used the less intelligent mods like stickers and big exhaust pipes. I thought I'd add in a final thought. Fu(k you infuryum!!

HAha that is funny how it can go both ways I hardly ever street race. As a matter of fact I hate it. But everyone has a bad day and we got to take it out on someone especially when they ask for it.I heard infuryum's car was not a Si but maybe those people are just jealous. From all the post he has had here I would have to say he is not a biased person and does not seem to be a liar.

Kevin of Ramchargers - Gratiot has a Black 2000 Si that would destroy ANY SVT and it looks stock, from side on (2" lowering kit is only visual difference). He makes 300hp to the WHEELS thanks to a built bottom end, APEXi GT-R Intercooler and Rev Hard Turbo Kit and NOS. Not to mention the obligatory support mods, V-AFC, Boost Control etc. He doesn't even have a chrome tip on his exhaust! He was showing at Autorama this year, but I am sure that the majority of pushrod-bred meatheads there at the show passed it off as another boy-racer wannabe car. Even with my old GSX making 300hp (at the fly) and AWD, I wouldn't race him from a rolling start. From a stop yeah, but he'd catch me quick. He says it'll do high 11s if it just would stop spinning. And trust me that's no BS!
