Dam, either that Civic doged it off the start, or their a lot slower than I thought. I guess thats the bonus of our cars, you don't need to drop the clutch at a grand shy of redline to get actual performance. Its a lot easier for writers to abuse a car when testing it when it's not your own. I think thats the only way those Civic's post any numbers

I have raced a lot of Si's with a couple of mods, and I always beat them by at least 2 cars or more. One time I ran one at the track and i beat him bad. I ran a 14.8 and he ran a 15.9. An Si is a riced out civic. But I have seen some Si's with a turbo on them run high 12's....

my friend has a stock si and i have a stock sport atx. i reacted quicker but he gained untill my secondaries opened up at that point we were neck and neck. when i put into 2 he pulled on me then i just put in drive we were then neck and neck. we had to slow down do to a red light. if i could keep up with an si in a stock contour with an atx. then mtx and svts don't worry.

Well, it was intended to be but something got fubar'ed at the start. So anyway, no this video footage should NOT be used to benchmark future Si vs. SVT battles.

As far as the SI goes, I raced one with a Fart pipe, intake, lowered. Any other mods I did not see or hear! First gear was a death to the SI. They just don't have the TQ to hold up. Once the get the "VTEC" rolling their high end power, they are pretty quick. By then, it's too late. SI 160hp, 111TQ. From a punch it could be a different story. Different usable power were it counts for them.
