They are 2 different fixes to semi similar problems. On the hybribd 3L's since we're blocking off return ports we don't get the same return volume that the 3L's have from the heads. The oil pan is mostly to help with oil going all to one side of the pan under side load. Both are oiling issues, but only slightly related in the fact that the more oil you get back to the pan, the less baffling it needs. Solution- use both 3L heads and the new pan.
