Hehe funny! I've been told something similar by a Chevy dealer. AS per my experience, most of the CELs I've gotten haven't made a lick of difference. I usually reset the PCM to see if it comes back...if not then you're good to go.
To reset it, either d/c the (-) battery terminal or pull out fuses 4 and 11 for 30 seconds or so.
