my brother's birthday is coming up, and he has expressed interest in a flowmaster muffler for his '88 MX-6 2.2 turbo. Anyone have any experience with the exhaust on these cars (same as the probes)? He likes it kinda loud, but we're looking at flowmaster delta 40's and 50's. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Go with a straight through design muffler. Best performance gains.

Why don't you take his Probe, give him your Olds, and get yourself another Tour? That might be a better idea! laugh

Chambered muffler + turbo = ASS

Go for a Dynomax UltraFlo or something equivalent.

Yes, Dynomax mufflers are straight-through. Not sure if NAPA sells them or not.....

I personally had a GReddy exhaust on my "old" 95 Probe GT, but those exhausts are not cheap!!! If he wants something inexpensive that has a "nice" loud tone(too loud for me)go for the Pacesetter cat-back exhaust. You can get one from NOPI,Summit and JCWhitney for around 150$. My .02 smile
