Sure, I'll admit that I've been guilty of conviction, but usually not when presented with black and white facts. A person with no convictions whatsoever is just as bad as a person with such solid conviction they've blinded themselves. IMO, Bush and Kerry are seemingly perfect examples of this, which is why I don't particularly like either one of them, personally.
And you do seem to have gotten better about listening to others reason, and props to you for that. You'll probably find that you agree with people a lot more than you thought you did on first reaction, no matter which side of the political fence you happen to sit on.
