CAIRO, Egypt - A video posted Tuesday on an Islamic militant Web site showed the beheading of an American civilian in Iraq (news - web sites), and said the execution was carried out by an al-Qaida affiliated group to avenge the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by American soldiers.
The video showed five men wearing headscarves and black ski masks, standing over a bound man in an orange jumpsuit â?? similar to a prisoner's uniform â?? who identified himself as Nick Berg, a U.S. contractor whose body was found on a highway overpass in Baghdad on Saturday.
"My name is Nick Berg, my father's name is Michael, my mother's name is Susan," the man said on the video. "I have a brother and sister, David and Sarah. I live in ... Philadelphia."
After reading a statement, the men were seen pulling the man to his side and putting a large knife to his neck. A scream sounded as the men cut his head off, shouting "Allahu Akbar!" â?? "God is great." They then held the head out before the camera.

Maybe now those soldiers who did those despicable acts to the prisoners having whatever 'fun' they thought they were having can now see the effects of their actions.
I'm not saying it's their fault, this sort of executionary killing shouldn't happen under any circumstances, but I hope the killing of this man weighs on those soldiers for they did contribute greatly to his death. As far as I'm concerned they should make each one of them watch the video.

Hey, they were embarrassed, not dead. There is a huge difference between the two. Atleast when they get home after the war (whenever that happens to be) they will have all their toes and fingers.

now..i am not justifying the beating of prisoners....but al queda hates us anyway and is looking for any reason to attack us. reasons like....oh..i don't know....the mere fact that we breathe the same air they do. the prisoners should not have been mistreated. al queda needs to be crushed entirely. if the prisoners hadn't been mistreated then that contractor would have been killed for another bs reason. the only way to stop al queda is to crush them into oblivion or to make them so afraid of us that they curl up into the fetal position at the very mention of our name.
btw-you are saying the contractors death is directly the fault of those few crappy soldiers
