looking for a cheap CD/reciever for my gf's commuter car... is the best option the local Fry's? or are there some screaming online deals? note - looking at under $150 - so this is definitely NOT an audiophile system

Entry level Alpine's are around $129-$139, so you should definitely look for those.

I was looking at an entry-level Pioneer for my girlfriend for about $130. It could be had at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.
Beer is my Gatorade.

yeah i think my pioneer hu was like 150, look at pioneer.

got my Pioneer DEH-P25 on ebay brand new in box, around $60 I love it too! came with a remote

i got my sony cdx-sw2000 for $110 at Pepboys. can also be found at Circuit City. detachable face plate, blue back ground with white text, plays Cd-R and CD-RW, anti-theft feature...more like a reminder if you don't take your faceplate off before you leave the car it beeps 3 times. nice sleek look. built-in Equalizer with presets to change on the fly depending on wut ur listening to. overall...pretty good for the price.
