Unleaded fuel is like Non Fat milk there is still a little in it. 100 Octane and higher have much higher lead content than the "unleaded" 87,89,91,93 Octanes. Some even state that they are leaded fuel which you definately should not run on a vehicle with cats.

Huh?

Lead was an additive, not something that was removed like fat from whole milk. Even the trace amount of lead in fuel from common handling when oil companies still sold both types, is gone. No more additive, no more common handling, no more lead.

The last major oil company to sell leaded fuel that I can remember was Unical and that was well over 10 years ago, maybe even nearly 20 years ago. I do remember a small group of independent stations selling "Trick Gas" (there was a station in Hollywood) that continued to sell leaded fuel for a few more years, but that was uncommon. It was also a lot more expensive.

If there are still service stations selling leaded fuel, they would be very uncommon.
