I've decided to go ahead and have the Transmission rebuilt on my 98 Contour SE (the second time in the past 10,000 miles...although I didn't have the car for the first time). I've done a bit of research for what I need and I found this site

I told my mechanic not to buy the parts(I wanted to do it and save money beause he quoted me almost 500 dollars for all the parts) He also told me I need a new vehicle speed sensor. I cannot find that part online. Can anyone please point me in the right direction.
So for all the parts I needed I've averaged it to be around 250 dollars. So how in the hell does the total cost of the labor mark this up to $2000? Should it really be that high just for the rebuild even though I'm giving him all the parts he needs? I plan on talking to the mechanic in the next few days I would really like some input from a few of you guys as to whether this is a fair price or not...any help will do because I don't wanna be screwed.
