No way do you have remove anything to get to the rear plugs (apart from the plug wires). It's a very simple operation with a ratchet, plug socket and extensions (maybe a universal, but I've never needed one).
I do believe you need to remove the coil pack to gain access to the rear plugs. Easy, 4 bolts, a plug and your done
