Ok I'll check info from the 2 mentioned sources. The car is no longer under warranty. The problem is with the tranny for sure they say. The labour involved will be for sure not less than over $600 for sure and that's not including parts. Worst case, it'll end up costing over $3000 for a rebuilt tranny plus labour and taxes which will bring it to $4500-$5000. For a car with only 60k on it. And the 60k doesn't mean it's parked much, it's driven normally.
And get this, GM didn't even give him a loner car even though it has to be there until monday or tuesday. So I phoned them asking if they give loners and the answer was yes (even when not under warranty). We drove there and he asked why they didn't offer the loner. He service guy said they don't do that!!! I told him it's really poor service since the bill is over $600 already and nothing's done or even looked at yet. Then I told him I phoned and asked about loners and he said it's only under warranty. I told him no, because I asked if it has to be and the answer was no. He said they don't have a loner to give. Finally after more argueing he went to talk to the person I talked to on the phone and a few minutes later we had a loner ... and the lady I talked to on the phone said of course they can always give loners. Nice sh!ty service from the service guy isn't it.
