Umm I believe business doesn't pay tax's at all. A business makes money by producing of a product, or selling of a service. Now when they put a price on a product you might as well figure that the tax is added into the product. Which puts the price back on us. Why would they pay for taxes when the can pass it along to the consumer

Yes, but only for people that already have MORE than enough money to live and enjoy the fruits of excessive wealthiness,

Wow, I always thought that liberals hated successful people but never heard one actually say it.

It's funny when all of these conservatives say "Abortion is bad. We're sticking up for the unborn fetus right to live!" But when it comes time to help other people continue their lives, and it costs them money they all sing in chorus together "It's not my responsibility!"

I would rather have everyone be able to see a low-paid goverment doctor, than most of the nation not be able to see any doctor. But maybe this is just backwards thinking.

I don't think that people with more money deserve to live more than a poor person ( i myself not being even the slightest bit rich) but i also don't begrudge them the fact that they can afford better services. I don't think that because someone has succeeded in becoming rich they should be made to foot more of the bill than someone else. In fact i intend to be rich instead of living of the rich peoples tax dollars. Maybe if some of these people who are always demanding services spent that energy in bettering themselves and job hunting they wouldn't need the rich mans money. I am not saying that succeeding is easy but it definately isn't impossible. This was a great nation when personal responsibility was the norm.

Actually the way it works in this country...the E.R.s cannot legally turn people away. This is where uninsured go, and consume a HIGH percent of nations medical resources (with hospitals partially reimbursed by the government and eating the rest of the costs). They get state of the art diagnostics NOW (as opposed to waiting 2 months+ for an MRI as in Canada), expensive drugs (much broader formulary than Canada) expensive procedures...again no 6 month waiting list for coronary bypass, no rationed HIV drugs until disease is advanced. The problem is outpatient followup - many do not follow up because they do not want to wait for hours in busy university, or health department free clinics. They often prefer to wait for acute problems and are poorly compliant with preventive medicine. But its typically available for those that bother to work with the system. Socialized medicine is much like this...its just that EVERYBODY gets the same treatment..

And again...the best of the "low paid" MDs in Canada, India, South Africa, etc..come HERE.

Yeah, and what I dont understand is how the government today lets people and businesses make a profit at the expense of the poor people that buy their products! Why hasnt the government put regulations on how much good and services cost so the businesses don't make more money than they need to. Whats that great quote from that guy Marx.. oh yeah, "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need." Yeah, we as U.S. citizens demand that our government force business to follow this thinking. Same goes for doctors; they should be forced to treat every patient even without getting paid for it. Let the government raise taxes again so people can go to the emergency room for a sore throat, knowing full well that they can't turn them away...

Of course they do, if you could make a "decent" wage in your country or move here and make a fortune, which would you pick?

I would imagine the vast majority of people who are badmouthing socialized medicine have medical insurance. I can recall several times when I didn't have insurance having to pay out the a$$ for both the doctor's appointment and then the medicine I needed. You would probably take a different point-of-view if you were on the short end of the stick...

That has to be one of the stupidest things I heard on CEG in a long time. Why don't you just move to a country that believes in Marxism, socialism, communism (take your pick). Because those countries usually last a long time (insert sarcasm here). I think it has been proven that our way of life (capitalism) is pretty much the best. Sure we have our flaws, but overall this is a great country.

If your post is in reference to gas,, you do realize that it's OPEC setting oil prices, right? And OPEC is other countries, our government doesn't control them. And you realize that about 70 cents of every gallon of gas is taxes, so really not that huge of a profit just to the american companies,,, though I'm sure they do make more than they "need to", but you don't start a business just so you can scrape by.

This is the dumbest crap I've ever heard. Yeah "all men are created equal". Never says they'll stay equal. The choices you make determine how succesful you are, and success should be rewarded. Rewards push people to work harder.
