Depends where in Canada you live. In Saskatoon, we have one of the best universities if you are studying medicine. And alot of the specialists are located right here. Our bills are all footed for us, ambulance, everything. I have so far never had to pay a cent for any medical related thing in my life.
Some provinces have started privatising areas of medicine. For instance, you crash your car and go to the hospital, it's free. Elective surguries will require a premium. I only wish dentistry was free...
That's all going away real soon, as almost 1/2 of our province's population (and growing at a retarded pace) doesn't have to pay taxes
