A while ago, mine was like that too. I tried everything, even vice grips, and that didn't work. Ratchets/sockets don't work because there isn't enough room, with the exhaust there and all. The shop I took it to used a plumbers wrench. I don't see how that could have possibly worked better than vice grips, except maybe, since they had it on a lift, they had better leverage.
