Vice grips wouldn't work for me, use a pipe wrench(monkey wrench). The teeth grop right into the metal and you're done.

Thanks for the help guys, I finally got it off by getting the car lifted. As wk217 said, it was all about leverage. The ramps didn't give me good enough leverage to get the plug out. Also the vice grips did a hell of a job. Thanks again.
