I was just wondering if anyone has used or is using one??? I have one and was using it before I found this website and I was told from a good friend of mine from here that it would scratch the paint so I stopped using it. I want to start using it again because I get tired of spending $.75 to rinse my car off everytime I get dust on my car. I am worried it would scratch the paint, I know it says it won't but I want some feedback on this. Thanks in advance.

P.S. If you have some ideas on how to remove dust with out having to spend $.75 everyday please post them, btw I don't have shelter to park it under.

Got a few ways actually...
1. Get a car cover
2. A leaf blower probaly would blow the dust off
3. Read into the product, if it claims to be good, use it, if it gets scratched, time for a lawsuit

It may cause hairline scratches but not that deep. You wash off the dust off everyday for .75cents? Thats $21 a month of rinsing it! I would put those $21 in my gas tank! GET A LIFE DUDE!

I have one, it works great. Then again, my tan car doesnt show dirt or scratches very much either.

I've never heard of it scratching the paint, but what mine did was leave these "streaks" that simply wiped off. What I have now, after many years of using the Cali car duster, is the one offered through Griots garage and it works better and is the same price

ugh I get those streaks too!
I realized it was partly due to my wiping technique. Sometimes I was pressing instead of just gently wiping.

Somebody had posted a ~67 page long detailing guide a while back and it says using the duster is fine. I'm sure any scratch it could make wouldn't be deep enough to go through the wax that I'm sure most CEGers put on their cars.

I swear by the Car Duster. When they're new they will leave a little residue, but that stops after a few uses. If you start out with a clean car, you can remove all dust and pollen on a daily basis with the duster without having to wash.

Yep, I use the duster on my black car allll the time. Specially because it always happens that I washed it yesterday, but due to Colorado dust, it looks dirty as hell today. Just take the duster to it, and it's clean as a fresh wash! Haven't noticed any scratching, but I do wax my car a minimum of once a month.
