the stories of the fidanza aluminum slowing down the zetecs may be coming to fruition in my own car. after installing and breaking it in for 600 mi or so i got on it some and it hesitated bad between 3500 and 5000 rpm and then picked back up again till red line. after some discourse with the mech. over surfacing and some other things, than pulled a code for free off a CEL i got . said it was bank 1 O2 sensor. i assumed that meant the one before the cat. replaced that and no change with the mid rpm problem. then grabbed some crc and sprayed down the IAC and MAF sensor. damn was that thing filthy. it seems like i just cleaned it not too long ago. the filter that came with my CTA seems to let in a ton of dirt. anywho...
she runs clean to redline now and accelerates well, but that flywheel just seems to take ALL the hit away from the tires when i shift. i still think it might be slipping some.
spoke to a rep at SPEC and he said that sometimes he sees the step on the fidanzas not quite within specif. possibly causing some slip. im gonna have my mech. bleed the slave cyl. again in a couple hundred mi. to see if i can eliminate some possible causes and try to properly diagnose the problem here.
guess some of the guys on here may have been right warning me against the aluminum wheel (sleeperZ, etc.), but we will see.
wish me luck, this is getting expensive, hense frustrating!
