Were you speeding? Ok, guilty. Now go ask the judge for traffic school and learn your lesson (though I probably wouldn't have ticketed you for less than 10 over...)

My advice, just plead guilty, apologize and tell them it won't happen again. Like it's been said, Judges don't like excuses, they'd rather see you own up to what you did. Good Luck in court.
Eh, hogwash.... we are equal opportunity ticketers. Any color car will do...

Some states, like Oklahoma and Texas (only 2 i have experiance with) you have to plead No Contest to get a differed sentence. I think I will stick with my suggestion to talk to a lawyer who will help for for no charge. $1000 for a lawyer who will do the same thing that you can do (keep it off your record) is too much.

There is no way in hell I'd pay a lawyer for this, IMO. I know in Mass the first ticket does not affect insurance rates. Its like a freebee "OK, this is your warning. Don't do it again"
Take the first hit, especially for something as small as this. What is it, $100 fine? You'll be able to get that reduced just by going to court.
You'll want to check about the insurance, but all in all I wouldn't do it.
BTW, it lasts on your record for 6 years up here in MA. But as us Massholes know, Auto Insurance in this state is really screwed up. You need to go through a broker to get insurance. You can't sign up directly. That's why all the insurance companies say "except MA and NJ"

I'm glad I don't live in MA, that would suck. Yeah sandman I was speeding. Honestly, I had it coming, and since I was pulled over I have done no more than 5 over. So I have learned my lesson. By the way, I went to court today. The judge was cool and was gonna drop it, then the highway patrolman came in. So, I got off with the simple class and court cost. They said the class usually costs around $15. That seems kinda cheap. They said any AAA certified class would work. I have to take one and have the little certificate they give you to them by July 16th. I'm gonna do it as soon as school lets out next week. Oh, court cost is only $35 at that court for under 20 over speeding tickets. So I made off pretty good, and will probably drive slower from now on...at least for a while.
ps...any easy way to look for these AAA classes? I haven't looked yet, I will in the morning.

Nah, I prefer to catch the car that is going the fastest, regardless of color. The faster they are, the harder to catch, the better for me whan I catch 'em.
