The valve actuator cannot be controlled by the IMRC because it would needs three states in the RPM schedule. Open, Closed, then Open. On the IMRC, you only get Closed, then Open. I know a relay can reverse these signals, but it would still need three states. A seperate RPM sensing control module would be needed for it's operation, so it would work on any year Contour.

The cool thing about the butterfly is, it can be moved by just a selenoid. It doesn't need to be a stepper motor which would require more parts. The control module would simply have a sensor wire that taps into the coil pack, and it changes its state when the RPM's reach a certain window.

This same controller would also work great with NOS
