Got the car back from the dealer and it looks like I need a new transmission. They quoted $3800 for rebuilding. I checked around and another transmission shop quoted $2600. Just wondering if it's worth it since it already has 125K miles on it.
What do you guys think? I took good care of the engine (Mobile 1 oil changes) and transmission (trans fluid change every 40K miles at the dealer). Still the transmission goes out on me

Also, if I do decide to rebuild, can any of you recommend a good trans. shop in the northers Chicago suburbs? Anything else I should have the shop do while they're rebuilding?
