I just ran a search but was unable to find anything on whether Ford ever upgraded the transmission in the MTX-75. I thought I read somewhere on here that they upgraded it for 2000. Is this true and if so what were the upgrades?
I ask because CarMax may be trying to screw me to the tune of $3000
and I need all the ammo I can get to tell them that the synchros in the pre-2000 tours are notoriously bad, proven (I hope) by the fact the Ford had to upgrade the tranny in 2000 to address the problem.
Anybody able to lend a little expert advice or their keen memory?
