i have a us robotics usr8054 rated at 54mb. the base is in the next room and i regularly see 54mb to the router making file transfers no problem. internet connection in no way reflects this speed however. talk about a bottle neck.

My Cousin has a netgear A/B wireless router, he just selected 802.11G at 108Mbps in the setup. He changed it so it was a fixed band, that way he didn't loose speed, something with the router changing to help the range was screwing it up. He's a Cisco engineer so I assume he knows more then me about, but it seemed pretty easy to setup, and it works great.
