Squeaks and rattles drive me crazy too. Living in Michigan, the cold weather tends to bring them out more too. I find that strategically placing bits of foam (I use beer coasters) cut up can minimize many of the squeaks by forcing pressure on the squeaking areas and cushioning impact areas. On the leather seat squeaking, I've heard that putting some baby powder on the affected areas can help eliminate squeaking. I hope that helps.

it just goes with the territory man, its a contour, not an IS300 or a 5 series.

Thinking about it now, I think it is mostly the interior materials makin the noise, most specifically the dash. Sure, the doors make some noise in cold weather and the sunroof makes some noise over the bad stuff, but all in all I think its but another product of the Contours shoddy interior. Could Ford have been any more off the mark with the plastics and materials they used?

Ever ridden in a 2001 Chev Cavalier? That is a poor quality interior. Makes the Contour feel like an Audi. Talk about panel gaps and crappy plastic.

My interior is well screwed together. I feel the car twist a bit over driveway entrances, which makes the back seat squeak. The sunroof makes just a teeny bit of noise. In the winter, it's a bit worse. In the summer, no problems.

Of course, new things smell and feels new but nothing last forever. Even our bodies make squeaky noises such as bones, stomach growls, hiccups, farts, etc. Can we fix those?

It could be the front valance squeaking. For the longest time I thought my squeak was a control arm bushing. It reminded me of a squeak you'd hear from polyurethane bushings or such. Anyways, one day while waxing the contour I noticed the front bumper cover squeaked when I shook on it, right in front of the wheel. Some plastic looking clip/post holds it on top, so I hit it with some WD40 and it's been quiet ever since. It should only take a second to see if that's one of your problems.
