If we are really "thinking" I think it does bring up the issue of redefining the role of the U.N.. The simple fact is that they failed to enforce the same MAJOR resolution about 14 times. And we have learned that corruption may have been part of the reason. And the UN set another bad precedent by pulling out of Baghdad after one bombing. This is not the first failing of the UN in this regard and it is frankly hard to point to UN sucesses in the area of miliaty intervention...

Whlie the UN has uses..amoung them rebuilding governments and reconstruction, I think the U.S. (well, many of us anyway) is facing the fact that we cannot rely on "group consensus" when US security is involved.

Forced to leave the UN indeed.....If I were Bush I would have had to fight back STRONG urges to toss Kofi and his crew into N. Y. harbor..
