Corollas (not the one with the 180hp engine) are super slow. Slow enough to make me not even want to test drive it.

How fast can Civics get? I know the acceleration on the new ones suck. But how fast can the, say about 98 body style actually get? Worth the money that it takes to get it that fast? That's what I'm leaning towards right now. Sorry to sound "ricey" or whatever, but hey, I want a new car.. <new to me. ..

Yes, but I've "seen" a corolla type-s around year 2000 model atx, and it's so slow that's it doesn't have even good passing power or pull out onto the road power. That's important to me and I think it would be to many other drivers. It's unsafe sometimes when you don't have enough power.
Ooo, and new civics' accelerations is fine. My mom has a 02 base model atx and it is a good bit faster than a corolla. Although the civic is not great at higher speeds, it is geared well and is light enough to get into traffic fairly quickly.

Ahh, A non-Ford basher. Why don't you judge these cars by their qualities, rather than writing them off because of their names. Everyone and their brother knows that the Civic is a better vehicle than the Focus. Granted, they are both fine vehicles. However, your honda-bashing is unfounded, and way too obvious.

Everyone and their brother doesn't know that. The focus has proven to be very reliable, perhaps more reliable than civics. It also accelerates faster (comparable models) and is easier to work on. But your brother THINKS the civic is better, so you and your brother must be right.  Though I do get your point about looking at qualities of other cars. Too bad the other ones don't have very many good qualities.

Why I dont like Honda's: 1. The High pitched starter, 2: The doorbell style chimes when you leave the lights on. 3: The style of it, 4: The CEL is always on for no reason.
Sorry, I am a Ford Enthusiast, I prefer not to own anything else, my Ford is good to me, the Ford vechiles my parents own never had any problems, why try other cars when I have seen nothing but problems with em for other users? Hondas do not appeal to me, unlike my Contour, which makes me feel happy to own the car, if I had an interest in another car, I dont think id be here at "Contour Enthusiasts Group "
Now you talk quality? You mean how my mom has owned her Escort LX since 1994 and not ONE problem?! My dad's used 92 Ranger how that is still working great? new idea. .. The Accord 2 door(body right before the new ones). or the civic.. since looking at body kits, i kind of like the newer model. Would the accords be faster than the civic? Acceleration. . . thanks.. sorry for all the questions, i don't really know where to start looking to find out the answers.
