they are marketed as gas scooters. basically they are shrunk down versions of crotch rockets. we carry a few styles...latest being a chopper style (smaller engine, but still fun).
the ones in the pic are 49cc engines and top speed of about 30mph. they are comfortable for me (5'8" 185lbs) and even our boss was able to ride it (6'ish and 240+lbs). of course, more weight means they go slower...but still a blast to ride!
