What I meant was, some people's 2ndaries *only* get stuck open (or closed, sometimes) in *HOT* weather. In other words, when the temps are mild, the 2ndaries work perfectly. It's a problem related to the IMRC getting waaaay to hot to function properly- in hot weather.

Right now in socal, I'm having this problem during the day. At night, however, they work just fine.

How does this have anything to do with his problem ? A 'cooked' imrc box will prevent the secondaries from opening and might keep them pinned open (maybe on the last one) but as he stated the car runs fine when cold, thats unlikely to be the issue.

-edit- Grant, what are the codes ??

I misunderstood his meaning of "hot". Now I see that he meant the engine temp. I thought he meant "hot weather"- which IS my problem right now.

I thought we may be having the same problem, but mine's just crappy under 4k rpm- when the weather is hot.

Sorry for the confusion.

*EDIT* mbb41, my car runs fine when the engine's cold too- presumably because the IMRC isn't cooked yet.

And a good way to test the box for overheating is to go to radio shack and buy a can of the stuff that electronics guys spray on to the circuit of an electronics instrument that they are working on that does not work right when hot... they used to use freon R-12 before it was outlawed.. dont know what they have in the cans now, but it will cool down an electronics object and let it run correctly again so they will know what to replace...
