Yes....I have the R4 pads (track only). The R4S are for street/performance duty.
The R4 pads are perhaps the best pads I've ever had. One thing you do need to watch is your calipers. I ended up melting one of my caliper dust boots with the R4's. However even with that heat in the pads I had zero pad fade

Wow.
No fluid boil? What kind of fluid are you using?

I never said the fluid wasn't boiling.....
Yes the pedal was soft but they kept on biting like a champ.
Should be better this year with this fluid. Thankfully my brother can get it at cost for me from his dealership

For reference the R4s are about a Cf of .52 or .53 From what I've been able to dig up.
Pretty good and what I'd term a very good 'performance' pad. Not on par with true race pads, depending upon the required bite of course. Ues by myself on many open wheel cars, they do well on light cars and with moderate temp levels. Higher weight and extreme temps may find them not quite up to the task of a better pad.
Still all in all, probably one of the most good all around pads you'll find for moderate performance use and light track days.

Todd, are those numbers for the R4 pads or the R4-S?
They claim the R4 pads as being a full race pad while the R4-S are a high performance street and autocross pad.

Todd, I'm due for pads & rotors soon, and was considering the R4s pads or Bendix titaniums from Stazi. I may do a couple track or autocross days a year, but I do drive with moderate aggresiveness on the road. how would you compare the bendix & porterfield pads? car is contour SVT, close to stock.

I have also used the R4 pads and have to say that they bite and withstand heat faaaarrrrrr beyond any street pad I have used. They withstand heat very well. I had a hard time adjusting to the longer braking distances with my regular street pads after I took the R4 pads off after a track event. The difference IS VERY noticeable. I only had one track day on these pads and have had about 13 track days on regular street pads and I will swear by the performance of thee pads. they are very expensive however. Evan do you remember the cost of these pads?

The Cf numbers represent the standard R4. Low to mid .5-.55 is a prettty darn good pad for many applications. Higher bite pads may not be needed and honestly they don't guarantee shorter stopping distances. Especially on street tires.
I'm guessing here but the R4s is probably in the .47-.48 range based only on my thoughts of what I'd put into this pad. Durability comes with less bite.
Running the R4 for a track pad is a great choice. They have served me well on many race applications. They are available for all the Wilwood apps also. I don't believe I'd run them on the street given wear and dust levels.
As for all out 'race pads' they come up a bit short. That's ok, they don't eat rotors like the Poly A's for example. Porterfield also stocks these same pads now under the Raybestos label. I believe A's are ST41 compound. Wilwood has the license to the Polymatrix wording but the pads are still Raybestos.
