Evidence of the Bush Administration awareness of this plan is found in the events immediately following the 9/11 attack. The administration's first move was to shore up Pakistan and Egypt, believing that these two would be the next targets for al Qaeda, while Americans focused on the disaster in New York. The administration also knew that the most important objective was to send a loud and clear message that the U.S. was in the region to stay, not only to shore up our allies but to send a message to the Jihadists.

I think this an excellent article, I agree with much of it.

I really do agree that "jihad awareness" is behind the so-called "Bush doctrine" and I would add both Saudi Arabia and Jordan to the list of governments that Bush has reinforced against jihad. Bush has recieved substantial critisim for "not cracking down on the Saudis" but while not all of the Saudi royals are on our side, I think in general (given their delicate situation) they are as supportive as they can be. They have been much more agressive against the wohabiists (esp after Ryhad) and recently, it was reported that they were MUCH more supportive than we were lead to believe in the Iraq invasion. They are at high risk from AlQueada..same as the other afformentioned leaders, and I think we have seen a shift in the way they deal with militant Islam.

I agree that Bush has done a poor job of explaining this to Americans..

I agree with virtually all the characterization of Iraq and what our goals should be.

I agree FULLY with the UN accessment...as I have said many times here.

I think the treatment of Carter, Dean, Kerry & Dems in general was pretty rough and I do not believe they are willing conspirators. I do believe they (with some notable exceptions..Lieberman, Zell Miller, etc) lack awareness of what we are up against as was stated:
.."Either none of the Democrats currently leading the drive to their party's nomination are aware of the facts of the Great Caliphate and Third Jihad or they do know and they don't care so long as their power lust is satisfied".
