The GT "should" beat it out of the hole but after 30mph the SVT walks it badly.
"Bench" racing the SVT is nearly a second faster in the 1/4 mile. That's a ton of car lengths or not even remotely close at the end.
In an "illegal" stop light battle the GPGT would be tough because it's brainless to launch and has a lot more torque for only a couple hundred pounds more weight.

Anyway, a CSVT wouldn't likely romp and stomp a Grand Prix GT, but it would likely pull ahead once the revs build. Run into a supercharged GTP, though, and you better start saying your prayers.
Are you kidding me! I've walked GT's with minimal mods. I've even taken a few GTP's up to about 60 mph, but the light ahead was red...
GTP's, stock, are high 14 second cars with good launches. From a roll, they lose a lot of their advantage in power as stock GTP's can't downshift to first from a 40mph roll. If you took a GTP up to 60, you must have a pretty good 1/8 mile time or you might have caught him from a roll ?
