Hey there. Got a question for ya. Did your SVT kit go on without a hitch, or was there modifications to the frong bumper needed to be made to fit right. AND is there a major difference in your hood compared to the ones on the Contour besides the look factor (i.e. fitment factors and light shape differences)

I think I know the answer, but just want to know if I am right or not.

I dont have an SVT bumper on mine, but there are 3 Mystique owners on here (all post-98) that have it. From all the research i've done, It WON'T fit without custom fabrication such as molding it onto the exsisting stock bumper. There is a big difference in hood, grill, and headlight shape compared to the contour. So basically, no basic bolting on and look to spend at least $1000 to have an SVT bumper on your Mystique.

ok well since I have done the conversion here are your answers 1) They have to be molded together because the mystique grill is deeper than the contour grill. 2) The inner part of the headlight(by the grill) are different than the contour but the shape of the light is the same therefore the headlights could go on a contour but you would just have to modify the grill on the contour or put a mystique grill. 3) As for the hood the part that wraps around the top of grill looks similar to the contour but I'm not sure. 4) As for cost yeah the bumper cost well over a $1000 to do but it was all worth it in the end. And if I sell my front bumper I will be selling for at least a $1000.

Here is a decent shot of a my Mystique hood from above and should give a pretty good idea that where the hood meets the grille is very different...

Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate it!

I figured it wouldn't work. I don't have a Mystique, but I was hoping to transfer the grill and lights over to my SVT, because I like those lines better than the oval...

I had offered it before but there wasn't enough interest.
