Hypocrite? Not hardly. What I was referring to was specifaclly what's going on in Afghanistan/Iraq which is more about stopping terrorism. You know, terrorism that caused people to be afraid to go outside after 9/11. My point was exactly that...people are dying to protect our homes and our way of life so people don't have to be afraid to go outside and live their lives. Do I need to draw you a picture?

In fact, I happen to be one of those people who have put on a military uniform and served my country for 13 years so that we can all have our freedoms so don't give me your judgemental garbage about me being a hypocrite when you know NOTHING about me.

Your comment has been the only sign of common sense in this thread.
As for Rene, he/she should practice a little more common sense when writing an article like that. He/she may have the right to say/write what they want but doing it this way is just asking to get lynched by a bunch of rednecks. Afterall, look how many rednecks in this thread want to kill Rene.

I'm sorry but this is another sign we need to cut Puerto Rico loose. They take everything they have for granted and continue to bash the US. The dont't want to be a state because they'd have to pay taxes but the continue to enjoy our welfare.

I'd really like to know if either of you have ever served in the military. Because if not you have absolutely no clue what these men and women sacrifice for their country and maybe if you had you would understand why so many people get upset over crap like this. That article is a straight out disgrace to our country and a slap in the face to our miitary members and their families. I guess since we have freedom for speech and expression it should be O.K. to burn and Amercian flag to huh?

What is even worse here folks is that (assuming U. Mass is a PUBLIC instituition of ahem.. "higher" learning) is that taxpayers are PAYING to try and educate that so called primate....

This is an entirely different issue, and trust me, it has little to do with paying taxes...
First off, in Puerto Rico, the average Welfare recipient receives $35. Any idea what it is in the US? Significantly more, at $535.
If they were to become a state it would completely DESTROY their economy. They would be required to follow federal laws such as Minimum Wage. Do you have any idea what effect that would have on Puerto Rico.
We should probably stay on subject with this one, and save Puerto Rico for an entirely seperate thread.
