The fact is most of us started out with low-end systems that we thought sounded awesome I for one can say that I started with 2-10" JENSEN subs and a 150w optimus amp (radioshacks crappy version of pioneer) why.... because I didn't have a resourse like this to rely on for information. (hell, 16k internet was a new thing back then) But I learned and eventually was #3 in the midwest in my class.
I think the majority of this post is people who have learned through experience trying to keep audio newbies from making the same mistake that most of us have.. And it doesnt take 1000 a piece to make good sound. I've offered many deals on here before for new diamond audio equipment. (CM3's for $55, m6's for $130 (usually $350))
